Things I love #2 Sports: Hockey and Soccer

This week I have cleared all bugs off my computor! I fixed all the pictures in the last post, which took me forever seeing as I had no idea how to..
I have been trying to think of new things to talk about, about me.
The one thing I kept thinking of was................ Sports!
Soccer:

I have played soccer since I was a little kid, but I didn't always play the game.
At four my parents put me in ballet, I hated it. I didn't like the costumes!

Although now, I would love to be a ballerina. It's so beautiful and elegant!

 

I have to say I'm a little bit obsessed with Dance Moms. It's an American tv show of these girls and their moms as they compete in different competitions all over the USA. I would love to be half as good as those girls!
Their moms are crazy and their teacher is preetty insane too!

If you don't know who they are, FIND OUT! They dance amazing and their choreography is always so beautiful or super fun and sassy!

Back to soccer,

That is actually me! I was in a newspaper a while back, so there is it! This was taken during the GIST, Gloucester Interational Soccer Tournament, I think is what it stands for.. I should know. I've been playing with Hornets since I was nine! This year is the one year I won't play, I'm going on a two month volunteer trip instead. It's been lonely without soccer!
Chistine Sinclair. She is really amazing, as are the rest of the women's canadian soccer team!

She scored the winning goal London during the 2012 Olympics!

These women are Canada's goalkeepers. They are a huge part of the team. Both are great role models on the field!! I'm a keeper as well and my mom and I always watch out for the whoever's between the posts.

She's well firstly gorgeous and also really really good!
Canada doesn't have a player who sticks out like a sore thumb, they all are great players!
Jonelle Folignio:
THIS is a soccer player. She is amazing and one of my favourties! (along with Sinclair and Tancredi!!! and an uncoming player :).)

Hope Solo:
I read her book and have watched her play many, many games. She is an amazing keeper.
She's overly confident so I'm very happy Canada stuck it to her and the United States Soccer team but there is no doubt she is a great keeper!!!!

This is one of her many great saves.

If I was half as good as her, it would be a miracle!
Now onto the Canadian sport, hockey. I don't play hockey but my brother, my neighbours and all my guy friends and some of the girls have played hockey at some point in thier lives.
Ottawa Senators:
My hometown's team!

The captain of the team, Daniel Alfredsson

He is 40 years old and can still keep up with the 20 year olds on his and other teams. He is really good.
My favourite player, Erik Karlsson:

He's the best defenseman, I heard on the tv just now! The Senators are playing the Montreal Canadians, we'll get to them!
Karlsson is out right now, he injured his achilles tendon.
Toronto Maple Leafs are also a big hockey team in Canada, supported by Justin Bieber. (probably how they became well known)
They are not my favourite team.

So needless to say since I don't follow the Leafs, I don't know thier team!

The toronto maple leafs had a player named Tim Horton. This is the very same guy who opened the famous Tim Horton's coffee and donut shop. Tim Hortons or Timmies has become a Canadian classic and must have for all hockey moms or dads or really anyone. Although they must have taken a hit when Stabucks showed up!

Tim Hortons does this thing called Roll Up The Rim. It's where your coffee cup has a little tab that you roll up on your coffee cup's rim and it will either have a win a donut or win a coffee or something or it will say play again. Most of the time you will see play again, win a donut or win a coffee. Althoug my mom won a bike once! Ugliest bike around... a Shwinn Bike that literally was covered from one wheel to the next with TIM HORTONS ALWAYS FRESH ALWAYS TIM HORTONS. All over the whole bike. Funniest thing ever when my mom got it, her face just sort of .. dropped? She was like okaay then. But she rode the thing for weeks, we only got rid of it a few years back.  You have the chance of winning cars or money or tvs, but I have never known someone to win something other than the donut or coffee which happens to be pretty commun.

 Now the Montreal Canadiens or The Habs.
This is my house's favourite team along with the Senators! Most of the time you will hear people say they are a die hard Sens fan, but as soon as the Sens are up against the Habs, everyone turns to the Montreal team. This is because the habs have been around for longer than the Sens and everyone who grew up around my parents' time, only cheers for the Canadiens. I dont get it either. Then why not cheer only for the Habs? Follow the Montreal Canadiens,  no they like both. okaaaaaaaay.. I mean I understand but why go only for the Habs when they play the Sens?! Go for both! Haha, those crazy Canadian fans........

Carey Price the goalie:

 Sidney Crosby, everyone has heard his name in the NHL (National Hockey League). Sid the Kid. This guy is everywhere in my house... He's my 9 year old brother's favourite player.

Well those are my favourite sports, I kept them close to hoome by showing you Canadian teams and my teams! :)
